Hi Judy, I will be sending out a copy of the slides and recording later today
Mari Savickis
39:17
@ Dr. Hanson - about your question about payers compliance - this is a CMS requirement. They are NOT named in the 21st Century Cures Act as one of the actors who must comply with info blocking.
Mari Savickis
39:49
Here is the fact sheet from CMS from their interop /patient access rule which was released same day as ONC info blocking rule.

Helpful, thanks Mari

AND - to reiterate what Andrew said earlier - Info Blocking law did NOT change HIPAA.
Mari Savickis
43:52
Deck will be distributed.
Mari Savickis
47:59
Bottom line - you still must meet HIPAA and local laws on sharing data.
Mari Savickis
51:08
I see the questions on the Q/A section as well.
Mari Savickis
56:40
Bottom line - don't delay.
Mari Savickis
57:22
That's interesting feedback - we can follow-up on that.
Andrew Tomlinson
59:36
Thank you for sending that along Tiffany. We will follow-up with ONC, in general, unless written on healthIT.gov or in sub-regulatory guidance we heir on the side of caution. So we'd concur on using your best judgement and treating it as is until we know otherwise.

The ONC guidance on definition of a provider can be found here: https://www.healthit.gov/cures/sites/default/files/cures/2020-08/Health_Care_Provider_Definitions_v3.pdf

I'd suggest also speaking with your specific medical society to see what they have said and are telling their members - American Occupational Therapy Assn - if you need a contact there let us know.

Very helpful!

01:09:01
I'd also wonder if they have a separate NPI for the occupational health department vs the hospital.
